The restaurant “La Galerie” is the dining gem of the new Grand Hotel des Sablettes in La-Seyne-sur-Mer. Located adjacent to the hotel’s reception, guests can lounge in a delightful small sitting area as they await their table. The dining hall, spanning the entirety of the space, boasts a grand central bar. Yet, the most captivating aspect is the series of glass panes lining the restaurant, flooding the room with unparalleled luminance and offering glimpses of the outdoors.
A Luxurious, Larger-than-Life Brunch
It is the most bountiful brunch buffet I’ve ever encountered in the region. Priced at 45€, it might seem steep, but it promises a vast array of both hot and cold gourmet dishes. To commence your brunch, you’re greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne! Unlimited hot drinks and freshly squeezed orange juice are also on the house.
From smoked salmon, prawns, and charcuterie to an array of salads, custards, pizzas, and pies, the variety is staggering. Not to mention the dessert section with pancakes, waffles, crepes, and honey still in its comb. Most impressive, perhaps, are the plethora of toppings, condiments, and accompaniments available – sauces, seeds, nuts, dried fruits, and more. You’ll be spoilt for choice.
My Experience
I particularly cherished the glass of champagne (which can be swapped for a jumbo smoothie for the more health-conscious) and the unlimited hot beverages and orange juice. In most buffet brunches, specialty coffees and fruit juices either come at an extra cost or are of inferior quality. Here, the value for money is evident, even if you aren’t a voracious eater.
The buffet itself is plentiful, diversely stocked, and continually replenished. There’s even an option to get your eggs cooked to order! There’s genuinely something for every palate. As for the staff, they’re attentive and welcoming.
